Freddy Dodge had a cancer scare six years ago while filming Season 8 of Gold Rush. At the time, his doctors warned him that he might have cancer. The show documented the health scare and his medical journey as he learned, thankfully, that he was cancer-free.
“They cut it out of me, and it was benign,” he said at the time. However, while he said it was over, the memories of that moment still have many fans worried about the popular reality TV star. This became even more concerning when Discovery Channel started promoting the new season of Gold Rush: Mine Rescue.
This is the spinoff series that Freddy got and co-stars with Juan Ibarra. The new promo revealed the show had just returned, but when fans caught a look at Freddy, many panicked. He had lost a tremendous amount of weight, and many thought he was clearly ill.
