Freddy Dodge was one of the top names on Gold Rush for many years; however, the show has moved on to other big faces in the past few seasons, and Freddy moved on to do a different spin-off series. Recently, fans have become worried about his health. Here’s what we know about Freddy Dodge since his cancer scare:
Freddy Dodge had a cancer scare 6 years ago while filming season 8 of Gold Rush. At the time, his doctors warned him that he might have cancer. The show documented the health scare and his medical journey as he learned, thankfully, that he was cancer-free. “They cut it out of me, and it was benign,” he said at the time.
However, while he said it was over, the memories of that moment still have many fans worried about the popular reality TV star. This concern became even more apparent when Discovery Channel started promoting the new season of Gold Rush: Mine Rescue. This is the spin-off series that Freddy co-stars in with Juan Ibarra.
The new promo revealed the show had just returned, but when fans caught a look at Freddy, many panicked. He had lost a tremendous amount of weight, and some fans thought he looked unwell. One fan wrote, “Just watched the first episode with them revisiting mine rescues; Freddy doesn’t look well. Is he okay?”
The ironic thing is that, in 2022, fans on Reddit were worried that he was putting on too much weight and was at risk for a heart attack. Freddy Dodge has never mentioned the cancer scare since, so it seems like Gold Rush fans are worrying and finding things to fear, regardless of the situation. When he gained weight, they feared he was getting sick, and when he lost weight, others thought he looked unwell.
